Snippet about Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a freemium web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google launched the service in November 2005 after
acquiring Urchin . Google Analytics is now the most widely used web analytics service on the Internet. Google Analytics is offered also in two additional versions: the subscription-based Google Analytics 360 ,  previously Google Analytics Premium , targeted at enterprise users, and Google Analytics for Mobile Apps , an SDK that allows gathering usage data from iOS and Android Apps. Wikipedia

✔ Features of Google Analytics to webmasters

Overall Traffic Overview

It give an overview of bloggers traffic source. Traffic might be from anywhere on internet be it where you share your links to (like socia media), Google (if SEO is properly done), Direct traffic and backlinks Google analytics is also powerful as it gives statistical traffic overview on the traffic generated from ad platform like facebook ads, adwords and other Pay Per Click [PPC] networks.

Monitor Devices Used

Like Google Console did, google analytics track devices used by visitors to your website. It indirectly tell bloggers if blog is mobile friendly or not.
It give insight on the percentage of visitors who use either mobile or desktop.

Hence, if the percentage of visits received from mobile is always higher than the percentage of visits received from desktop, it means such blog must be well optimize for mobile veiw for effective ranking.

At times the percentage of mobile and desktop veiw might be equal or probably fluctuating, mean that both mobile and desktop must be well optimized.

Note:- If you are receiving a similar amount of visits from both devices [Mobile Vs Desktop] but less conversions on one, this shows there's being problems with the user experience using such device.

Track User Interation and Reactions

This give you the secrets notice of how visitors are reacting on your blog, how helpful your contents is, how they value your blog.

You can track which time they reviews, comment, like and share your post. These interactions are very important to who so called webmaster. You will have to learn how you will transform these increased interactions into actual call-to-actions (conversions) like purchases, downloads and subscriptions.

Page Quits
Wow! I love this because it give me the insight of my visitors rection when they landed on my pages.
There are some blogs that visitors do land on their page or content page and close due to some criterion

Reasons for page exit
- Poor designs
- Slow loading
- Poor Writing ability
- Gramatical errors
- Content not clear or valuable
- Too much contents make them feel bored
Using this I was able to maximize my conversion as I was able to investigate how people do react when landed on my pages and able to correct my lackings.

✔ About Tracking ID and Tracking Code

Google analytics has owesome fearues as many other web tracking platform claiming to the best according to their services but to me, Google analytics is the best and most widest used. Now to get this tracking to be done for your blog or website you need something called tracking code or tracking ID geneated for blogs by the platform.

Tracking ID is just like a little numbers with two alphabets. It looks like this [my blog tracking ID; UA-112779337-1 ] which will be added to blogs via setting on blogger and though plugin on wordpress

Tracking code is also generated by the platform but differ from ID. It is lines of coding which will be added to blogger or wordpress template code right below the <head> tag. It looks like this-

Note: both ID and Code willl be generated just have to choose a preffered one of the two.
If you look at the above codes closely you will see the same tracking ID right after config in the last blogger

✔ How to Register and access google analytics

Access google analytics

- Logon to http://google.com/analytics I recommend you to use Google crome browser for easy navigation.

Now the registration page open. Mind you, we want to be monitoring our blog or website not app.
So click on website and fill feilds. Note: all feilds are required

Name - in put the name of the account
Website Name - the name of the website you want to track its stats
URL - the web address you are tracking. It may a freenom domain, subdomains, or country specified domain.
Industry Category - the category of your blog or website
Country and Time Zone - select your country; as of time zone you don't need to stress much on it. Once you choose your country the time zone automatically change.

After click on Get Tracking ID a popup box apear to specify your country and be prompted to accept the terms of service agreement.
Select your country and hit “I accept"

Don't forget that for us to track our website we added while signing up, we need a tracking ID and CODES to add to our blogs.

Once you are taken to your dashboard your ID and codes will be shown which you can then copy and install in bogger or wordpress.

Samples of ID and codes
Tracking ID: UA-112779337-1

Tracking Code:

✔ How add Tracking ID and Tracking Codes to blogger

There are two ways of installing this codes:
1. with the use of ID
2. with use of codes [requires template editing]
Any of the two ways, you are inline.

With the use of ID 「Simple steps to follow」

Logon to blogger dashboard ▷ Settings ▷ Other Settings ▷ Google Analytics ▷ Paste your tracking ID ▷ Save Settings

With The use of Codes

In blogger dashboard ▷ theme ▷ edit HTML.
One need to be extra very careful here because it contains series of code that make blogs function, a slight mistake will destroy all the codes.

Now hit CTRL +F to search for <head>
Just copy your tracking codes and paste immediately below the <head> tag ▷ click save template and you are done.

Google urge webmaster to use the codes because its more accurate than using ID. But to me its the matter of choice and using ID is more easier.

Add Google Analytics to Wordpress blog  or website also have two ways of doing it.

1. With the use of Plugin
2. With codes editing.

With the use od plugin
- Install Google Analytics plugin
- Go to settings ▷ plugin ▷
- Google Analytics and enter your Tracking ID and save.

Adding Google Analytics in site codes

- Log on to your Wordpress admin dashboard
- Click on Appearance ▷ click on Editor
- Paste the code under in the header tag.
- Hit the save button and that's all.

Note: you can add this codes only if you've upgraded your wp account you will have access to edtit their themes. Not like bloggers that give a full privilege to edit HTML codes for free.

This is all you need to get your blog tracking by google analytics. Tracking will not be effective at immediate hour as it takes Google to start tracking after some couple of hours.
I can't specify the time becuse im not part in Google team but I'm rest assure it will be effectiv after 24hours.

Don't eat this hot cake alone please do share with fellow bloggers and let us do more by adding your review through the comment section.
